Case of the Mondays, er Saturdays...

Today sucked hard.

Yeah, it's Monday after the week-long shutdown, that could be the main reason why I felt so sorry for myself all day. But I really think my crappy mood was caused by the events of this past Saturday:

After dutifully feeding the cats in the morning, I decided to go get the mail.  Once I stepped outside the building, I heard meowing -- above my head.  Curious, I looked up above the door to see where the kitty was -- only to realize it was my very own Spooky on top of the roof, meowing at our upstairs neighbor and her cats!! Stupid Spooky!

She somehow managed to climb up there -- but didn't know how to get down.  The very nice neighbor-lady popped out her window-screen to save naughty Spooky for me (I was ready to leave the little brat up there).  Of course, Spooky was all too willing to shred her rescuer to ribbons, but the cat-lady-neighbor deftly and firmly grabbed Spooky by the scruff of her neck, keeping her somewhat subdued.

As punishment, we grounded Spooky (she's not allowed to go outside) and ignored her for a while.  She couldn't handle the silent treatment, so she started biting Alma and sitting on me:

That evening, I watched The Dark Knight and was horribly disappointed.  That was a really dumb movie.  Barely any dialogue, no in-depth story lines (although there was so much there to work with!), and too many explosions/car chases/gadgets.  It was obviously made for male audiences.

The night was then rounded out with my friends telling me I look old and have ugly hair. What great friends I have! Thanks a lot.

As a result, all I could do at work today was worry that the cat-lady-neighbor must be pissed at us since her window-screen isn't popping back into place correctly (this morning I noticed it wasn't in all the way) and worry that my face and hair are as disappointing as my friends think they are.
:(

Hopefully tomorrow will be better...

Work Art of 2008

For some reason, I get most inspired to do artwork when I'm either listening to a lecture or doing math... therefore, my work notebook is full of random doodles. Here are a few pieces from last years' notebook. I scanned them in with the work scanner -- which doesn't do color for some reason. Most of my drawings were done in blue ink. The last girl (to the right) was inspired by Leslie from Pancake Meow. The girl in my doodle has a white cap on -- she reminds me of a mischievous milk-maid or something. The rest feature girl faces, shoes, hair, and clothing. Overall, I'd say I'm obsessed with drawing women in a fashionable way. I'm hoping that one day, I'll get my wits together, and maybe acquire a drafting table, to make some decent large pieces like Johanna. Maybe one day!
